A question that I have often been asked is do I prefer Nikon of Canon cameras. I don't actually do not have a preference, which may sound like a cop out. Personally I own Nikon gear but at the Sentinel we use Canon. So my answer to them is usually camera brand I like best is whatever is in my hand.

Latley I've noticed that most of the time in my hand has been my iPhone. It doesn't have a very powerful imaging system. The camera only produces 2 megapixel images. But I've been having fun taking pictures with it and using and app called CameraBag.

The app has six different filters:
CameraBag includes the following “filters”

  • “Helga” - A square-format toy camera feel with washed-out highlights and old-school vignetting.
  • “1974″ - This is your father’s camera. Faded, tinted, and hip.
  • “Lolo” - Shoot from the hip and take life as it comes with vibrant, colorful shots.
  • “Cinema” - Dramatic, moody, wide-screen stills from the movie of your life.
  • “1962″ - Dynamic black and whites from the photojournalists of a bygone era.
  • “Ansel” - Smooth gradation from black to white.
  • “Infrared” - Simulation of the popular landscape photography technique.
  • "Fisheye"- A simulated peephole look.
I used the "1962" and "Fisheye" for the two photos above. It's nice to use so I can get the creative juices flowing. And sometimes I just need a break from SLRs.
